The device is carefully optimized for short dead time (~ 2 ms) employing a home-built capillary flow-through cell. The data acquisition is hardware synchronized with the stopped-flow mixing sequence. A sample volume of about 1 ml per syringe is required for bubble-free loading of the sample. Typical mixing shots need 0.1 ml of each liquid. Further details about the setup can be found in the following reference. The capillary head and  reservoirs are thermally isolated. By keeping the head and reservoirs at two different temperatures, a temperature jump can be induced with a few millisecond deadtime over the range 5 - 70 oC.
