PRINCIPLES


An ESRF User is a scientist or a member of a team carrying out a peer-reviewed experiment to which beam time has been allocated. ESRF Users affiliated to universities and publicly funded laboratories of ESRF contracting party (member) countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, United Kingdom), will be subsidised by the ESRF for travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses directly related to the experiment. ESRF does not reimburse users from industrial laboratories or from institutions not belonging to one of the contracting party (member) countries.

 

  • Up to 3 persons per standard experiment;

  • Up to 4 persons for the following categories of proposals: BAG proposals, Long Term Project proposals and Red Experiments,

 

receive a contribution towards expenses within the limits set out below.

 

Other users may be included in the experimental team, but these persons will need to find their own funding.

The users working in a laboratory located in Grenoble will NOT be reimbursed for travel and accommodation expenses even if living outside Grenoble; they will however receive a pre-charged canteen card if this is requested on the A Form.

ARRANGEMENTS AND REIMBURSEMENT RULES SPECIFIC TO TEST CRYSTALS EXPERIMENTS


The ESRF does NOT cover the expenses connected to the Test Crystal (TC) Experiments
.

On the basis of the A Form, the ESRF arranges accommodation at the Guesthouse and canteen card(s) for the User(s) participating in the TC experiment but the users have to:

  • make their own travel arrangements;
  • charge their canteen cards (on-site);
  • pay for Guesthouse accommodation (cash or Credit Card).
