In February 2012 Grenoble will be more than ever the place to gather for all European scientists interested in cutting-edge research using synchrotron radiation. The 22nd ESRF Users' Meeting will take place at the ESRF site between 6 - 9 February 2012 and will feature two associated workshops and one school coupled with a plenary meeting devoted to recent advances and future directions in science at the facility.
Parallel sessions and a joint poster session will give the opportunity to enjoy exciting new science and to debate the scientific prospects of the Upgrade Programme.
The meeting will be centered on the exciting science currently performed at the ESRF and, in addition, the ESRF management will also introduce and initiate the process to produce the proposal for Phase 2 of the Upgrade Programme. The plenary meeting will be held on February 7 - 8 (one and a half day) and will feature two keynote lectures and four plenary lectures covering a large spectrum of ESRF activities, a report from the ESRF Directors on the status of the facility and on the proposal for Phase 2 of the Upgrade Programme, a talk by the winner of the Young Scientist Award and topical and interdisciplinary parallel sessions. The meeting will close with a common session for open discussion about the Phase 2 and about general ESRF matters.
A joint poster session and a banquet at the ESRF restaurant on site will give the opportunity to discuss with fellow researchers, stimulate new ideas and new scientific collaborations.
