Precautions in case of pregnancy

It should be feasible to come to the ESRF to carry out an experiment during your pregnancy.

The ESRF guarantees the respect of radiation dose limits for visitors in all accessible areas. Areas with strong magnetic fields are clearly indicated, and should be avoided by pregnant women. Other dangers include the chemical and biological risks linked with your own experiment. Therefore, we advise you to consult your institute’s works doctor for specific advice concerning your experiment. Your works doctor is welcome to contact the ESRF Medical Service for further information.
