Detector & Electronics Group

The Detector & Electronics Group provides hardware support in the areas of electronics, detectors and control equipment. Support activities include both general interest and application specific projects as well as assistance for the day-to-day operation of the facility. Projects include activities such as the selection and characterisation of commercial equipment or the development of specific instrumentation. A special effort is put in the standardisation of instrumentation to cope with the diversity of the applications at the ESRF and to increase the efficiency of the facility.

The group also manages and operates the Instrument Pool, a service that provides a wide range of on-loan equipment to the beamlines in the fields of detectors and electronics.
