The samples are mounted by the beamline staff, checked for radiation damage, translated as required, etc.. The data is then normalised, summed and sent back for analysis at the user's convenience. Occasionally, limited data analysis is carried out and a report sent to the client.
Industrial users are also welcome to come and participate in their proprietary experiments, in which case they are not charged for "scientific assistance" and receive the same user support via a local contact as any other experiment.
