Novel optical materials for solid-state laser host and scintillator applications
My research group at the Osaka University Institute of Laser Engineering aimed to develop novel optical materials for solid-state laser host and scintillator applications. By implementing an experimental approach coupled with first-principles calculations, we investigate the different bulk crystals, glasses, and nanostructures with various collaborators both inside and outside Japan. In this presentation, I will discuss our recent investigations on short-wavelength light-emitting materials which will hopefully lead to new applications and next-generation industries.
