Scope of the Workshop

 

This workshop is organised in the context of BioXHIT Section 2, Synchrotron technologies, work-packages 2.1 Assurance of high quality and stability of the X-ray beam at synchrotron source and 2.2 Software systems for automatic delivery of the X-ray beam to the sample. The main emphasis of th workshop will be software technologies for automatically aligning, monitoring and maintaining the X-ray beam up to the sample position.

Goal of the Workshop

The workshop has two main goals:

  • Share information between software developers at synchrotron radiation facilities.
  • Create collaborations in order to develop integrated software that can be shared in general by synchrotron radiation facilities and in particular by BioXHIT participants.

  1. Beamline Control Module
  2. Automation of Delivery of X-rays - Automatic Beamline Alignment
  3. Data Management - Historical Data Bases

The workshop will consist of approximately 15 invited presentations, and large mount of time will be reserved for discussions.

The workshop will start on Monday 3rd May (full day) and finish on Tuesday 4th May after lunch. The lunches will be held at the ESRF/ILL restaurant and the Workshop Dinner will take place on Monday evening in a restaurant in the surroundings of Grenoble.

Participation

Participation in this workshop in on invitation only. The invitations are sent individually to all pre-selected participants who will have to confirm their attendance by sending a notification by email to the workshop secretary, Claudine Brun. Participation in the BioXHIT workshop is free.
