Synopsis

The Italian Collaborating Research Group LISA at the ESRF is a general-purpose beamline using a bending magnet source. Operational since September 1994, it is mainly dedicated to the investigation of local structures.

Technical details

Typical beam dimensions span from 2 x 2 to 0.2 x 0.2 mm2. Both standard and total reflection X-ray absorption spectroscopy can be performed. XAS and ReflEXAFS spectra can be collected on concentrated as well as diluted samples (limit dilution 10^13 at/cm2) using multielement HP-GE detectors. Time-resolved X-ray powder diffraction data are collected with an area detector (MAR345) accessing d-space values from 0.8 to 80 Å. The typical collection time is 120 sec. Measurements are carried out from 10 to 800 K (XAS) or from RT to 1200 K (XRD) using different ovens and cryostats.
