The August 2011 issue of National Geographic tells the story of the discovery of Australopithecus Sediba, a new hominid species, by Lee Berger from Witwatersrand University in South Africa.
The fossil was studied in February 2010 at the ESRF, and part of this feature article puts this experiment into the context of understanding the development of the human brain. The online version of the article also includes a video sequence of the skull, produced by Paul Tafforeau of the ESRF from a micro-CT scan.
