Beamline Layout

ID32 is a more than 100 m long soft X-ray beamline with several end stations. A deflecting mirror after the monochromator allows to either steer the beamtime into the XMCD branch of the beamline or, if removed from the beam path, let the beam pass into the high-resolution RIXS branch. The principal end-station of the RIXS branch is a 10m long RIXS spectrometer. For the XMCD branch, it is a superconducting high-field magnet for experiments at high magnetic fields and down to 4 Kelvin. The XMCD branch also includes an open experimental area for user setups.
