Main characteristics of the RS6000 rheometer (Thermo-Haake), and the geometry-dependent ranges in stress (σ) and shear rate () for a gap of 1mm using 22 mm stator and 20 mm rotor ( 60 mm height) are tabulated below. The standard measuring cells are made of polycarbonate with the thickness of the wall reduced to about 0.2 mm around the X-ray beam position. Aluminum and vespel cells are also available for high temperature and good organic solvents. The wall-thickess is reduced to 0.1 mm at the beam position on the stator and rotor.

Angular speed (rpm) Torque (Nm) Stress σ (Pa) Shear rate (s-1) Angular resolution (rad) Frequency (Hz)
min 10-7 2 10-7  10-2 1.5 10-6 3.0 10-7 0.00001
max 1500 0.2 10000 1800 - 100

In addition, a capillary cell with stator 2 mm and rotor 1 mm diameter is also available for lower background in USAXS and samples with limited quantity, however with significantly reducedrheological sensitivity.
