Sebastien Berujon attended scientific preparatory classes in Auxerre from 2002 to 2005 and received a Master Degree in Physics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Physique de Strasbourg, part of the Université de Strasbourg, in 2008.

In 2009, he joined the European Radiation Synchrotron Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France, where he initiated his PhD project. A year and half later, he moved to Diamond Light Source, Oxfordshire UK, to pursue and complete his thesis researches, which were part of a collaboration between synchrotron facilities.
