The 17th Users' Meeting will take place at the ESRF site between 5-8 February 2007. This event will feature three associated workshops and a school, coupled with a plenary meeting devoted to recent advances and future directions in science at the facility by hosting parallel discussion sessions and a joint poster session.

The plenary session on Wednesday morning (February 7) will be devoted to the present status and the future Upgrade Programme of the facility, with contributions from the Director General, W. G. Stirling, and Research Directors, S. Larsen and F. Sette. This session will also feature a plenary talk on a recent ESRF scientific highlight and a talk by the winner or the Young Scientist Award.

The afternoon session of the plenary day consists of associated workshops as well as parallel sessions with short invited talks, reports from the ESRF Experiment Groups, and guided discussions on the ESRF Upgrade Programme document. Wednesday's programme will end with a joint poster session and the conference dinner at the ESRF site, where the winner of the best poster prize will be announced.
