Fig. 7: The monochromatised synchrotron radiation beam (ID11) is directly incident on the skew-symmetric LLL interferometer. The specimen is located inside a liquid cell. Interferometric projections are imaged by the CCD at spatial resolutions of (presently) 10 to 20 µm. The phase shifter serves to take pictures at four phase positions at p/2 increments. Reference images are taken in-between. Before reconstruction the phase ambiguity due to 2p-multiples are eliminated with a special algorithm. The measurement yields complete 3D information about the sample. One mode of exploiting this huge amount of information is to transform it into a series of pictures representing numerous different cuts under varying perspectives.
