Aim of the Workshop

Multiferroic materials, where ferroelectricity and magnetic ordering coexist, are very interesting from both fundamental and technological points of view. This coexistence brings out new physical phenomena and make it possible to envisage a large number of new applications. The study of multiferroics and related materials has greatly intensified during the last decade, and synchrotron-based techniques have just started helping to understand their intriguing properties. The subject has seen remarkable achievements after a lot of experimental and theoretical activity, which fuels the current research in the field for further progress in the immediate future.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together the most active scientists in the field, advance the state-of-the-art in multiferroics, and potentially identify questions to which synchrotron-based techniques can provide new insights. The workshop will cover a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from multiferroic heterostructures and nano-devices to more fundamental neutron and x-ray studies. We hope this event to be an open space of debate and exchange of ideas that leads to an increase of our understanding of the physics of multiferroics.

The workshop is open to all researchers, but is limited to approximately 50 participants.

All Participants are invited to submit an abstract for
