Joint DESY-ESRF-SLS Workshop
Scope of the workshop
The availability of coherent beams has a tremendous impact on imaging and scattering experiments with X-rays, but also with electrons or neutrons. The scientific communities involved are reconsidering the approaches towards ultimate spatial and temporal resolution in the characterisation of materials. The aim of the workshop is to discuss in the most open and informal way the various aspects of new methods exploiting coherence and phase information. The workshop will address open problems in this rapidly evolving field. Many of the subjects that will be discussed at the workshop are at the heart of the motivation for building new synchrotron facilities and X-ray free electron lasers.Topics:
- Coherent diffraction imaging
- Phase retrieval methods
- Probing dynamics through changes in speckle patterns, XPCS
- Coherence preservation and characterisation, optics
Scientific Coordinators:
P. Cloetens (ESRF), A. Madsen (ESRF), T.-H. Metzger (ESRF), F. Pfeiffer (SLS), I. Vartaniants (DESY), F. Yakhou (ESRF)
