Scope: Nuclear resonance Scattering with Synchrotron Radiation was a dream thirty years ago impelling several research groups around the world to start working enthusiastically on its realization. The first contributions to the "Blue Book" for the ESRF project were just visions without any preceding experimental proof. Funding agencies had to wait patiently until 1985 when the first paper was published on Nuclear Bragg Diffraction of Synchrotron Radiation in Yttrium Iron Garnet (PRL 54(1985)835). This dream has now become reality and NRSSR is widely used today as a valuable spectroscopy in various fields.
