One efficient way to learn how to use XOP and SHADOW is to follow a number of practical exercises. They illustrate the different problems that XOP and SHADOW can tackle, practical information of how to introduce the inputs in XOP, and the solution to the exercises. In addition, the input files for XOP are also available, which could be very useful to reproduce the solutions on your computer. The material of the tutorial consists of:

How to proceed:
- Install XOP and the extension SHADOWVUI (follow
XOP Download instructions).
- Install the latest patches for XOP and SHADOWVUI:
- XOP: In your xop installation, replace the files .../xop2.0/o_modules/*.sav by the files in this directory
- Shadowvui: In your xop installation, replace the file .../xop2.0/extensions/shadowvui/shadowvui_vui.sav by shadowvui_vui.sav
- Download all the tutorial material packed in a single file:
XopTutorial.zip (Windows) or
XopTutorial.tar.Z (Unix).
- Unpack the file into a new directory
- For an easy access to the input files, copy the files under the InputFiles_xop+shadow and InputFiles_xplot directories to your XOP current directory (current directory in Unix and default directory c:\"Program Files"\xop2.0\tmp in Windows).
- Open XOP and/or SHADOWVUI and load and run the corresponding files for the exercises.
