ID03 Support Laboratories

In ID03 and for the moment there are two laboratories and a mechanical workshop available:

1. 'Omicron Chamber' Lab
2. Sample Mounting Lab 
3. ID03 Workshop

In the near future ID03 will have a new laboratory dedicated to the catalysis activities with three setups available: flow chamber for catalysis ex-situ experiments (without X-rays), catalysis batch reactor with gas line and catalysis reactor for harsh conditions with gas line.

Omicron Chamber Lab:

• Preparation Chamber for UHV equipments preparation (samples, evaporators, new UHV items). Same sample-holder system and sample-transfer as used at the beamline EH2 chamber.
• Omicron chamber equipped with standard surface science techniques as LEED, XPS, UPS, polar and longitudinal MOKE setup, thickness monitor and Residual Gas Analyser (RGA). Same sample-holder system and sample-transfer as used at the beamline EH2 chamber.
• Flow Chamber (UFO-Chamber) for catalysis ex-situ experiments (without X-rays). Special sample mounting system.

Sample Mounting Lab: 

Used for in-vacuum mounting stuff as sample-holders, evaporators, filaments for UHV equipments, etc.

ID03 Workshop (T. Dufrane): 

It is mainly used as a mechanical workshop for big setups mounting, cabling and beamline items repair.
