ID13 Raman Spectroscopy

The ID13 beamline is now delighted to offer both in-situ and ex-situ microRaman Spectroscopy facilities to complement its X-ray techniques of microfocus WAXS/SAXS.

A microscope-based system is now available in a specially adapted laboratory located at the ID13 beamline. This offers ex-situ sample characterisation capabilities for selecting and mapping regions of interest both before and after X-ray data collection. Meanwhile, in-situ microRaman is available using a microProbe which is fibre optically coupled to the spectrometer. This is primarily designed for use in EH2, having a similar laser spot size to the X-ray beam used in this experimental hutch. However, with a 100 m fibre optic, relocation to the EH3 nanobranch is also possible if the need arises.
