MAD: X-ray Absorption Edges
Select the element that you expect to be around in your protein to learn more about the electron binding energies, values of f' and f'', undulator, etc. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT PROVIDE ALL THE EDGES ROUTINELY. Because of efficiency reasons, only the green elements can be done by experienced users on ID14-4. They correspond to most commonly used heavy atoms. All other elements marked in red should be done on ID29. Please contact Raimond or Andrew, the ID14-4 beamline scientists, for further information.
Most remote energies can be done at 13.2 keV. The U23 will always be setup correctly for this (16.01mm). If you want to stay at this energy FOR THE WHOLE DAY, use U24=19.6mm.
