Detector problems
Q4R ADSC has stopped/hung or One of the Q4R ADSC quadrants appears to be dead
1) To restart the device server : Device Servers Solution
2) restart the ADSC PC software (running on 4 PCs in the blue rack close to the wall in the part of the control hutch adjacent to the experimetal hutch): on each PC (keyboard and mouse are on a pull out drawer just below the screen) click on the cross in the top right hand corner of the terminal window. Go to the next computer by using the KVM switch. Restart the software on each PC with a double click on the "REMOTE Detector OP" symbol in the lower left corner of the screen.

Changing an ADSC controller (one of the 4 PCs in the blue rack)
1) shutdown all the ADSC computers,
2) slowly warm up the ADSC detector, which normally runs at -50 deg. Warm up in 10 deg. steps, you must wait for all controller lights to turn from orange to green before the next step.
3) when you get to 0 deg., turn off the controllers.
4) take off the side panel and trace down the plug from the controller to its power strips to find out which power strip this is. Then shut off the power for this controller.
5) disconnect the controller and remplace it with the new one, turn the power on and then the controllers.
6) slowly cool down the detector, agains in 10 deg. steps, to -50 deg. You must wait for all the controller lights to turn from orange to green before the next step.
7) restart the ADSC control PCs and the "REMOTE Detector OP" software.

For the additional information on shutdown procedure see the ADSC website.
