Sample Preparation Lab
The DUBBLE sample preparation laboratory is suitable for light sample preparation work. Preparations requiring complicated or enhanced risk chemistry should be carried out in the ESRF sample preparation laboratory (after consulting with Dr Harald Mueller).
The space is used by users, and staff, from both BM26A as well BM26B so it is possible that on occasion users have to share this resource. If you foresee that you have to use this laboratory consult in advance with your local contact about availability and potential clashes in schedules with regard to the use of bench space/equipment.
House rules DUBBLE sample preparation Laboratory
- access only for persons authorized by DUBBLE staff
- the lab is only to be used for sample preparation
- the lab benches are not allowed to be used as desk space
- no unauthorized use of chemicals/equipment
- no chemicals/equipment/consumables to be left after your experiment
- after use one is required to leave the lab in a clean and orderly state
(this applies even when predecessors have not done so) - absolutely no food/drinks/plates/cups/forks/whatever are allowed in this lab
Obviously all the normal rules of the use of laboratory space regarding safe working, disposal of used chemicals etc. apply. When the waste containers are full, do not continue trying to stuff more in them. Ask for replacements and when this is not possible, i.e. in the weekend, improvise a solution that does not create a mess nor unsafe working situation.
Persons who leave a mess like shown in the picture below will be banned from using the lab.
