Using your laptop

BM16 users will not be allowed to install Laptops on the beamline unless a valid and up to date virus signature file is available. (please read below the ESRF policy on laptops carefully)

ESRF policy for connecting a non-ESRF computer to the Network:

By connecting your computer to the beamline network, you agree to comply with the ESRF network policy. It implies that you must protect your computer against viruses to prevent infecting ESRF computers. It also implies that you must set up your network configuration to whatever specific setting the ESRF system or network administrators may ask you to, in order to prevent disturbing the operation of the ESRF network. In case of trouble, your computer can be disconnected at any time, without any notice.

Note: It is the users responsibility to configure their own laptop to connect to the ESRF network.
