The cameras are run using the winview software (Princeton, Roper Scientific) using a Microsoft Windows PC. But as most of the experiments are run from spec on a linux pc, some procedures have been developped to interface them. After acquisition, some preliminary image processing can be done on the beamline.
Running with winview
- Start winview 2.5.12 using its icon on matpc4. Its should be well configured for the last camera in usage. In the Experiment Setup, take note of the setting "High Capacity" or "Low Noise" as it reverses the image.
- Ensure that a fast X-ray shutter has been introduced on the X-ray path, then you can acquire image directly. This is usefull for the experiment alignement.
Running winview from spec
- Start winview according above.
- Ensure that user disk is mounted on matpc4 as G: (see Desktop)
- Within spec, type winviewInit and answer questions.
- The basic acquisition use the winct time command, which start acquisition on the PC and store motors position, counters and image name in the current dataspec file.
- Other command as winoscille, winscan are available. Current list can be obtained using lsdef win*, see also spec implementation on the beamline.
IMAGE PROCESSING
- Processing SAXS images with bm2img.
- Grid correction of CCD : bm2grid (pdf)
- Conversion of diffraction images in h,k,l reciprocal space with bm2hkl (to be documented, see N. Boudet)
SAVING DATA
After an experiment, it is strongly recommended to burn the original IMAGES ( .SPE) on DVDs. Under Linux, you can use the K3B interface. In a 1st step copy your data to be burned locally on the pc you are using (for instance in /tmp)
