More than 100 trainees are welcomed every year at the ESRF. It gives students an opportunity to put into practice their knowledge in an international environment. Their help is very useful to the working groups of the ESRF.

Traineeships contribute to reinforce the close link which must exist between university and the professional world.

Our objective is to help students to obtain their diploma by offering them a first professional experience.

During the training period, the following subjects may be studied:

• sciences: physics, chemistry, materials
• techniques: mechanical engineering, electronics, power supply, vacuum, safety
• computing: industrial computing, management computing, networks
• human resources, pay
• administrative tasks: translation, finance, secretariat

 NB : These internships are available only for students enrolled at university or in a school who must do a work placement in a professional area.

The internship must be covered by a work placement agreement ("convention de stage") signed by the teaching institution, the ESRF and the student.
