Up one level The ESRF operates a 6 GeV storage ring 24 hours/day as a high brilliance synchrotron radiation X-ray source. 30 ESRF beamlines are open to scientists who carry out research in fields such as Physics, Chemistry, Crystallography, Earth Science, Biology and Medicine, Surface and Materials Science.
