Introduction for visiting scientists

last modified 28-08-2008 11:25

The ESRF provides visiting scientists with a UNIX account on the NICE system. This account is installed approximately one week before arrival and removed automatically four weeks after departure. Since data generated on the beamlines can only be stored on NICE for 30 days, it is important to write data to tape as soon as possible. The account can be used to send and receive e-mail. It should be noted that to telnet or to ftp outside the ESRF data must pass through the firewall.

Additional information can be provided by the ESRF local contact for the experiment.
