How to book beamtime
Types of industrial beamtime available at the ESRF
"IN" experiment
All industrial experiments, except macromolecular crystallography, that can be carried out at the ESRF. (See our available techniques)
More information about IN experiments
"IX" experiment
A macromolecular crystallography experiment where the industrialist carries out the experiment.
The IX experiment offers the possibility to the industrial user to either come to the ESRF and carry out the experiment, or do the experiment from his own lab through Remote Access.
More information about IX experiments
MXpress experiment ("FX")
A macromolecular crystallography experiment where the industrial user sends his samples to the ESRF and our staff perform full data collection of the samples.

Express Services
You send us your samples and our dedicated scientists analyse them for you. This service is especially designed to bring simple and fast solutions to your experiments. We have extensively developed this service for protein crystallography (MXpress) and have applied it to other techniques:
Powder Diffraction
X-ray Tomography
SAXS/WAXS - USAXS
X-ray Microscopy
FTIR Microscopy
X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy
Should you be interested, please contact us.
Applying for the first time?
If you are interested in applying for proprietary beam time at the ESRF for the first time, you should first contact the Industrial and Commercial Unit who will direct you towards the appropriate beamline and inform you of the administrative procedure.
