The Beam Dynamics & Applications Group is responsible for "the supervision, analysis and development of the physical aspects of the machine". This means the group members devote their time to the study of the various characteristics of the X-ray source, seeking to optimise a wide range of parameters such as beam emittance, coupling, magnet calibration and lattice optics. This work has played a vital role in the improvement of machine performance and will continue to do so in the future. The Beam Dynamics Group also creates specific software required for the machine control system. |
