Turn by Turn BPMs

last modified 03-10-2008 15:09

General description :

The same BPMs used for slow Closed Orbit measurement can also be used for Turn-by-Turn measurements. A simple and low-cost extension was implemented in 1999 to add this functionality while preserving fully the advantages of the slow system that uses time multiplexing between the 4 RF signals from the BPM buttons.

The precise and reproducible synchronisation of the data acquisition system with the deflection kicker makes it possible to repeat and average over a large number of cycles, thereby achieving high resolution of 1um.
