The X-ray beams of the ESRF are produced by a set of electron accelerators operated by the Accelerator & Source Division.
The role of the Accelerator & Source Division is to operate, maintain and develop the X-ray source. This includes the injector (linear accelerator, booster synchrotron & transfer lines), the storage ring, the insertion devices and the beamlines front ends.
