Electronic and optoelectronic devices based on organic semiconductors have become a topic of intense multidisciplinary research. Entangled electronic and structural properties of organic molecules on surfaces require a sophisticated double approach, both experimental and theoretical. The X-ray standing wave technique allows an in-depth understanding of charge transfer on the surface.
